Foundations Memory Work C1 App Reviews

Outside of one app I use for work, this is the most expensive app in my library and is by far the least interactive. Please add the timeline song, and add depth to the memory work visuals. This is the stick and sand, but we need the instructor to be a bit more creative with the tools.

This app is perfect for my daughter to practice during travel time. We spend a lot of time in the car and keeping everything mobile avoid the bulky book bag. The ability to look ahead allows her to spend more time flushing out personal interest.

We are a CC family and use this app daily. It has almost everything we need if we are at home or on the go. The only thing I wish it had was the official timeline song. It seems foolish to me that the key song across the entire program is left out of this app. I have heard this complaint from families within the community as to why they wont buy the app. The memory work in here is wonderful, engaging, and rich they only piece lacking in the official timeline song.

It should be priced at $4.99 tops. There are a few pronunciation mistakes. The timeline song is not there- it is just spoken - they can certainly add the song weekly or have it separately. They need to step up the features for $15.99. Since it is just the cards and some of the information on CDs put in an app

My kids love this App, we use it every day and have cycle 2 also. This App could be even better especially for the price if it included both Presidents songs, the timeline song and if the features were more interactive. For example if after the Latin song had finished the student could touch the individual words to repeat them. Allowing them to hear the pronunciation of the specific word they are having trouble with. Also math, science and geography would benefit from the same application. Touching the place, number, or word again would result in the repetition of that place, number or word. The layout of the graphs, and maps could also utilize the free space of the IPad more efficiently resulting in less dead space and larger more visible images. A great App but with improvement could be a much better teaching aid. I hope a future update will include these features.

The app is nice in that all the memory work it all there visually as well as songs (EXCEPT the timeline song which is pretty disappointing) but Im already paying premium for the wonderful CC community and program. Why do they have to capitalize off everything? Timeline song or not $15.99 is unreasonable. I can understand 9.99 at most even but $15.99 just seems wrong.

After a friend sang some catchy CC songs to me, I thought Id buy the app and play them for my kids. These are old skip counting songs set to Sunday School tunes that I could find for free on youtube, not the catchy ones being used in the local CC classroom. I cannot find ANY other songs on the app, which was why I paid $15 for it, and my kids are bored to tears watching the not-so-fun flashcards. Waste of money. Put more songs on it!

Actually, you can drill all subjects in a week by flipping vertically! I have to admit, Im not often impressed by what CC puts out. The prices are usually more than what the product is worth and their priority consistently seems to be copyright protection over quality. However, this app has exceeded my expectations. It is exactly what you can get through CC3, but in our case CC3 took forever to load and our kids quickly lost interest.

The graphics are good, as well as the extra information. It is nice to have all the info in one app. However, I would really like some sort of quiz mode. For instance in the geography portion, give the user a location in words, and then have them tap the location on the map to test their mastery. For timeline, possibly have a mixup game, where the user arranges a mixed up timeline into order. A lot of people have made some great flashcard applications on Quizlet. Things like these would be great to have in one place on one app. I also seem to be unable to turn off the sound, so we cant do our own silent quiz using the pause button. For the price, some more versatility should be included in the app, rather than simple information.

We love our app, it is great to have all the memory work so easily accessible. We love it that we can easily review just one week or just one subject. Presidents song is great and I do wish the other song were there too. But if I could choose just two things itd be the quizzes (great idea for preparing for memory masters) and being able to lock some of them out. My kids dont review, they rush on ahead! Lol

We bought the app to further support CCs efforts. The lack of quizzing opportunities and game features is disappointing. In addition, the timeline song should definitely be included. I dont know what the reason would be for withholding it since the cards are copyrighted by CC. We will skip buying the app for future cycles.

I was disappointed with this app. It is quite simplistic. Im not impressed at all, nor do I think you will be. It looks like they just copied the information from CC connect. There is no timeline song. There are no bells or whistles - which I expect for $15. This app is more like a free app or a $1.99 app. So I am still left with using more than one source to do our memory work. CC - Get with the program. Get with the times. I want it all in the same place, and I want it portable. Thank you.

This app is such a beautiful learning tool. Its very handy, too, for CC families on the go. I do hope the Timeline song is added soon!

Like many reviewers before me, I am also dissapointed with the flexiblity of this app for the price. It should include the Timelong song and the Preposition song. (Like many CC kids, my kids dont even bother with the 4-6 prepositions for each Weeks English grammar; theyd rather run through the whole song.) I certiainly hope CC will consider upgrading the abilities of this app. For the price, I was expecting a LOT more.

Please include the timeline song!!!!!!!

Loving the app! Cant recommend it enough to anyone who is considering it! I love that now review can happen anywhere anytime regardless of internet connection, and no more hauling Instructors Guide everywhere. Not to mention the thing is smart - no constant having to tell it which week youre in. As soon as you pick a specific week, all other subjects default to that week, unlike CC connected, which makes you manually change each time (annoying). The presidents at the very end (week 24) are just too cool! The kids especially love that part. The visuals are awesome - just like having all of your cards in front of you. I believe this app is really going to help with learning/memory work in our life! Oh, the 2 CONS for this app are: No Timeline song & No Preposition song. Im not surprised since the Timeline song is 15 mins long, but the prep song would be nice, and hopefully CC will update w/the both songs before long...

I like this app for review. The kids love a little iPad time. I dont have to have an Internet connection to have access to the tutorials anymore. :-) I do however wish some of the extra songs were added, especially for the price.

This app is very visually appealing and well-done in that respect, but is lacking in one key feature I would expect for the price and technology available--its not interactive at all. I guess I expected that at least for the geography, my kids would have the option of a review where they could choose the correct answer. I dont need elaborate games, just an opportunity for them to do a simple review where they are participating instead of just listening. Again, I must say it looks beautiful. But the beauty of having apps in the first place is the opportunity to learn and explore in a whole new, INTERACTIVE way.

This is a wonderful app. It would be perfect and 5 star if timeline song added. I have to pull up song on another machine while looking at the cards. Huge hassle and would be more fun with song.

I think this app is great, but it NEEDS the information that is on the back of the timeline cards. The song would be nice too, but not necessary as I play it from the iPad anyway. I like the "snippets" that are on the science & history. The science "snippets" are mostly the back of the card and the history "snippets" are some additional information, which we love! The preposition song would be a huge plus, but again not necessary as we play it from the iPad anyway. I agree the app is pricey, but I think well worth it, especially if they fix the timeline and give us the back of the card info. It has all the memory work, which we used to bring cards and photo copies and geography tables in a small bag to places. now I just toss the iPad into the back seat or at a restaurant and have the kids review! I would like a more interactive app, but that is an entirely different thing. This is all the memory work, not games for the kids!
